WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A U.S. senator on Thursday is looking for responses from Google mum or dad Alphabet Inc and Twitter Inc on whether or not the U.S. corporations have any knowledge sharing agreements with Chinese language distributors, following a disclosure from Fb Inc this week.

Senator Mark Warner, a Democrat who’s vice chairman of the Intelligence Committee, mentioned in a press release he has written letters to the businesses for data on knowledge sharing agreements, noting that since 2012 “the connection between the Chinese language Communist Celebration and gear makers like Huawei and ZTE has been an space of nationwide safety concern.”

Alphabet has mentioned beforehand it has strategic partnerships with Chinese language cell machine producers, together with Huawei Applied sciences Co Ltd [HWT.UL], and Xiaomi, in addition to with Chinese language expertise platform Tencent.
